Tangkahan is not just a destination for us — it is part of our family story. One of the people who helped build and shape Tangkahan from the very beginning is a member of our own family. This land, this river, and this forest are deeply personal to us. We are not outsiders running a business here — we are part of its roots.

How to Get to Our Tangkahan Eco Glamping?
Tangkahan is a small jungle village located in the Langkat District of North Sumatra, right on the border of the Gunung Leuser Ecosystem. Our Eco Glamping location is a 15-minute walk outside of the main village area, tucked into lush green garden surroundings, immersed in nature.
There are two options to get to our place: by bus or a private car rental with an experienced local driver.
Via Bus
If you choose to reach our Tangkahan accommodation by bus from Medan, you’ll need to go to the Pinang Baris terminal. There are only two buses daily that go directly to Tangkahan; you should be prepared to spend many hours on board one of the local mini-buses. The journey will take anywhere from 4 to 7 hours, including stopping to pick up passengers. The local buses do not have air conditioning, and passengers are permitted to smoke on the bus.

Rent A Car With Privat Driver
For your convenience, we highly recommend that you rent a car with a driver. This will get you to Tangkahan much faster, and more comfortably! The cars have AC and fit a maximum of 5 people. You also have the freedom to stop anywhere you’d like on the way.
